The ring light sits on the longer arm and your phone on the shorter one, so the light can face you from beside or behind the camera. Both arms bend and stay where you put them, and the phone holder turns on a ball head, so you can switch between upright and sideways. The supplier also suggests using it as a small desk lamp.
Buttons on the cable switch between white light, warm yellow light and both at once, and step the brightness through 10 levels. It plugs into a USB port on a computer or a USB wall charger. There is no battery, so it only lights while it is plugged in.

Plug its USB cable into a USB port on a computer or into a USB wall charger. There is no battery, so it only lights while plugged in. A wall charger is not in the box.
The holder takes phones up to 3.6 inches (about 9 cm) wide, per the supplier. Measure across your phone with its case on; if that is 9 cm or less, it fits.
The clamp opens to about 7 cm and has rubber pads, so it fits the edge of most desks, shelves and bed frames up to that thickness. It needs an edge to clamp on and does not stand on its own.
